Cllr. Gail Squire

Chairperson - Planning and Allotments

My family and I arrived in Tugby in the mid seventies, having spent four years in South Africa, to stay with my parents, who were running the Fox & Hounds. Have been here ever since.
Started by helping to run the Fox & Hounds, then took on the Black Horse, set up a catering business, cooked at Tugby School, later at Uppingham Boarding School until I retired ten years ago. Have been busy ever since!!
Have always loved watching sport , (season ticket at both City and Tigers), played lots of tennis, had horses since I was thirteen, spent hours watching our son play rugby and cricket, then more hours watching/helping both daughters with their horses - tetrathlon and polo. I now walk miles every week with our lovely dogs, do lots of reading, get to cinema/theatre at any opportunity, music concerts (Stereophonics a favourite), visiting our children/grandchildren in Cumbria and Guernsey and my latest venture- carpet bowls at Tugby Village Hall!!
Tugby has been and is a happy place for me and my family.

As Chairperson of the Parish Council I am responsible for Planning and I also oversee the Allotments.

Cllr. Ann Baughan Avatar

Cllr. Ann Baughan

Vice-Chair - Finance and Website

Ann moved to Tugby in 1988; the removal men thought she was mad, having seen the modern, easy to run house with lovely garden in Uppingham that she'd swapped for an old house with a concrete farmyard at the back but it was definitely a good decision.

She has been involved with Tugby Ladies Club for many years, organising speakers and outings and even a couple of overseas trips.

She works 2 days a week as a careers advisor at De Montfort University, having worked there in several other roles after moving out of financial services. Her main hobbies are gardening, wine-making and doing puzzles.

I am currently the Vice-Chairperson of Tugby and Keythorpe Parish Council and I also oversee the management of the Website and Finance for the Council.
